My new documentary about a field of rings premiered on 28 October at Visum Mundi in Wageningen. This winter it screens in Arnhem, Oosterbeek, Dieren, Zevenaar and more, and it can be booked for your venue, school or organisation. The film is in Dutch.

Grensgebied premiered on 26 August in Groesbeek, in the area where it was made: the Gelderse Poort and the Rijk van Nijmegen.
Wageningen University & Research screened the film in Omnia as part of its DocuScience series, with English subtitles and a discussion with the director.
At Wildlife Film Festival Rotterdam 2025, Gemeenschap van Leven won the Audience Award with 4.9 out of 5, the highest score in the festival’s history.
The film about Utrecht’s Máximapark premiered on 12 October to a sold-out Podium Hoge Woerd, followed by screenings at Pathé Utrecht Leidsche Rijn.
At the Netherlands Film Festival 2025, De Wilde Noordzee won the Documentary Audience Award.
After its cinema release, De Wilde Noordzee was broadcast as a series by the EO from 13 April 2025.
From 29 February 2024 the film about farmer Bote de Boer and his godwits screened in Dutch cinemas.

About
I film and photograph nature, especially the places where people and nature meet. I do this for cinema films and TV series, as a camera operator, DOP and sometimes as a director.
I grew up near Lunteren. We had lots of nature books at home and I loved watching birds. When I was eleven, my parents let me borrow their camera. After that I saved up for my own, and I’ve been outside taking photos or filming ever since.
I studied Forest and Nature Management in Wageningen. During my studies I helped out on the cinema film WILD, together with cinematographer Dick Harrewijn. I still work with him often. With a grant from National Geographic I spent a year on a photo story about geese. My first big film as a camera operator was Silence of the Tides.
Filming nature mostly takes patience. Sometimes I spend days in a hide waiting for the right moment, in rain, wind or cold. My converted bus is my base: it has power, coffee and a warm place to sit. I work with cameras such as the Sony Venice, FX9 and FX6, RED, Varicam, a Phantom for slow motion, drones and macro.
In recent years I worked on films such as Onze Natuur, Vogels kun je niet melken, De Wilde Noordzee and Maximapark. More and more, I also make my own films, like Draaipunt and Weg van het zand. I enjoy showing a film and talking about it afterwards, so I also give presentations and organise screenings with a discussion.
